Reinventing itself for the 4th time, 4Play finds itself with a new set of members of varying ages and backgrounds bringing a unique set of skills and experience to the company.

Richard has acted from a very young age in school plays and pantomimes but really cut his teeth in acting with Hereford Youth Theatre where he played Claudio in Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare. Following on from that he worked with Maddogs Theatre Company on productions such as A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and The Hypochondriac by Moliere. In 1998 he joined Angst Theatre company and took a new play called Drop City to Camden People's Theatre in London for a week of performances.

Richard graduated with a BA (Hons) in Acting from the Drama Centre London in 2002. Under the tutorage of Christopher Fettes and Yat Malmgren he explored the methods of Constantin Stanislavski and Uta Hagen amongst others in productions such as Our Country's Good by Timberlake Wertenbaker playing John Wisehammer, Here comes a Chopper by Eugene Ionesco playing a mixture of roles and William Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream playing Lysander.

Since graduating Richard has appeared in television projects such as Nathan Barley, where he got to meet Chris Morris which was 'an awesome experience!' In 2003 he played 'Ozzy' a supporting role in a British independent film called New Town Original that premiered at the Bloomsbury Theatre London, the Prince Charles Cinema Leicester Square then the Notting Hill Film Festival and followed with a small national release. In early 2006 Richard co-directed 4Play's production of Patrick Marber's Closer. back to people list
