Vey Straker
Vey has been part of 4Play since 2007, playing leading roles such as ‘Fay’ in Iron by Rona Munro in 2008 and all 7 female characters in Two by Jim Cartwright, 2009. She is now directing 4Play’s latest production of Caryl Churchill’s A Number.
With no formal training, her enthusiasm and passion is helping her build a portfolio of styles and industry experience: she studied with Jenny Lipman at the London Centre for Theatre Studies for 10 weeks, attended two seasons of workshops at the Centre for Performance Research learning from the likes of multi-disciplinary artist Ping Chong and opera director Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski. She played Ellen Knox in Butcher’s Yard, has devised and performed with Re:Action Theatre Company in We Fisher Kings, was one of two characters in the film Shadows which featured at Borderlines Film Festival, reached the semi-finals of the Norman Beaton Radio Drama scholarship and is currently working on a series of street theatre pieces.
